Indoor Air Quality Sensor

The Indoor Air Quality Sensor monitors a wide range of air quality and environmental conditions to ensure the health, safety, and productivity of your students, employees, and customers. The sensor combines multiple measurements into simple, high-level Health and Comfort scores. In addition, the Indoor Air Quality Sensor has real-time event detection for smoking/vaping, motion, noise, and any physical tampering of the device.

Key Applications

  • Monitor the health and comfort of corporate offices to improve employee health and productivity
  • Detect vaping or smoking in school or public restrooms where cameras are prohibited
  • Guard against potential airborne virus health threats in office or residential spaces
  • Monitor noise levels in residential, commercial, or rental properties to comply with OSHA standards
  • Send immediate alerts when detecting motion in secure areas
  • Ensure compliance with common building standards including Well Buildings, RESET, FitWel, and UL Healthy Buildings
  • Multiple Sensors, One Gateway, Unlimited Users

Health Score (PM1, PM2.5, PM10, TVOC, CO2, CO)

The Health Score represents the overall air quality on a scale from 0 – 100, where 70 or above represents good air quality according to industry standards, above 50 is satisfactory, and so on. Each pollutant is measured and normalized to the same scale. Use this score for a general indication of room air quality, the specific pollutant measurements that are impacting your score, and to guide appropriate corrective action. The performance scale for individual pollutants are derived from industry or government standards.

Comfort Score (Temperature, Humidity, Persistant Noise Level)

The Comfort Score is derived from recommended conditions for optimal comfort and productivity in the workplace as defined by the UL Verified Healthy Buildings standard and your own preferred conditions. The Comfort Score is normalized to a scale of 0 – 100 where 70 or above represents conditions that are conducive for highly-productive work.

Vape Score (Vape “Certainty Threshold)

The Vape Score is derived from multiple measurements to detect the probability of vaping or smoking activity. Values greater than 10 represent an increasing probability that vaping or smoking activity is occurring. Smoke from cooking, burning fuel, or wildfires will also impact this score. A score of 70 or above represents a near certainty that vape activity is occurring.

Aggregate Room and Building Scores

With the Swift Sensors console, you can easily group your sensors into an area, floor, or the entire building, and generate aggregate metrics representing overall health and comfort scores across your facility. The intuitive dashboard displays average scores for Health and Comfort and indicates if any of the specific measurements are out of ideal range. You can display the Aggregate Building Score Dashboard on flat-panel monitors mounted in the facility to promote safe conditions to your employees, or as a simple status tool for monitoring and identifying potential concerns as they arise.

Thresholds and Alerts

The Swift Sensors console has a simple, yet powerful threshold and alerting system for all sensor measurements. You can assign thresholds and alerts to any individual measurement, so you are automatically alerted via SMS text, email, or phone call when the measurements reach a warning or critical level. By configuring thresholds, you can define precise alert levels based upon specific environmental conditions that require more active monitoring in your facility. The Health, Comfort, and Vape Scores as well as each of the individual measurements from the Indoor Air Quality sensor can be assigned thresholds and alerts.

Air Quality and Compliance Reporting

You can generate reports showing the daily minimum, maximum, and daily averages of each score as well as any of the individual measurements. Or you can generate a compliance report showing the percentage of time the air quality measurements are within normal, healthy levels based on thresholds you define. All sensor data can also be exported in a CSV or PDF format for additional custom reporting.

Multiple Sensors, One Gateway, Unlimited Users

The SS3-901 Indoor Air Quality sensor, like all other Swift Sensors, uses wireless ulta low-energy Bluetooth (BLE5) to transmit measurement data to the cloud via a highly secure Swift Sensors gateway. The gateway can connect with up to 150 wireless sensors in an office floor or industrial building, giving facility managers the opportunity to monitor all aspects of the facility with the Swift Sensors monitoring system. Typical building measurements include temperature, humidity, door position, power usage, and water presence. All sensor measurements are seamlessly integrated on the Swift Sensors console, which can be viewed by an unlimited number of users on a laptop, tablet, or smartphone.
